Living Up to Your Potentials

“The greatest achievement of the human spirit is to live up to one’s opportunities and to make the most of one’s resources.” (Vauvenargues)

There are several ways that a person may try to make the most of his or her potentials. Here are two that over the years have proven to be tried and true.

First, by creating goals that are based on positive values, by working hard and in an honest manner to achieve them, and by striving to be the best person you can be.

And secondly, you must be committed to acting in accordance with your chosen values. These values are the ideals that you believe are necessary to live by, and that allow you to have the kind of life you want to live and the kind of career you want to pursue.

When it comes to living up to your potentials there are no guarantees, but if you follow these two strategies, your chances should greatly be improved.

Ever since I was a child I have had this instinctive urge for expansion and growth. To me, the function and duty of a quality human being is the sincere and honest development of one’s potential.” (Bruce Lee, Hong Kong and American martial artist and actor)

Our potential is one thing. What we do with it is quite another.” (Angela Duckworth, American psychologist, author)

“There is no man living who isn’t capable of doing more than he thinks he can do.” (Henry Ford, American industrialist, business leader)
