Education: Catch It!

Never Stop Learning
....
Education and learning
“A person who won’t read has no advantage over one who can’t read.” (Mark Twain)

Education refers to something broader, more comprehensive and more essential than what you learn in a school or training environment.

“I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.” (Mark Twain)

It is more than simply acquiring information and facts. It is a deep-rooted value and motivating principle of everyday life. It is learning as a choice, a commitment, and an ambition, and is an integral expression of living in a meaningful and successful way.

Being educated means positively valuing learning, being curious and motivated to learn and enjoying the process of expanding one’s knowledge, wisdom, and imagination. It is revealed in the intentional, motivated and creative actions of individuals, using their minds and imagination in order to learn new information, knowledge and wisdom, satisfying their curiosity, solving problems, expanding their understanding of the world and improving their lives.

The literate person who turns their back on and refuses to read and exercise his or her intellectual curiosity becomes stunted in their development, wastes their acquired skill, and detracts from the fulfillment of their potential to fully experience true success in life.

Getting Personal

How would you rate yourself in terms of your dominant form of learning? Is most of what you learn a result of required learning, like in school or at work, or is it the result of personally motivated learning, a result of your curiosity and personal interests?

Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you’ll never cease to grow.” (Anthony D’Angelo, freelance writer, internet producer)

“If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you.” (Zig Ziglar, author and motivational speaker)
