When you set goals, there are no guarantees that you will ever reach them. However, setting goals holds out a tremendous potential for good and rewarding things to happen in your life.
Goals inspire you and help you determine what you really want to do in life, but most of all, they motivate you towards action. Goals give you something to constantly strive for, believe in, and keep you on a high path. Goals can lead you to many important proud achievements, achievements that will be memorable in your life.
Goals give you a meaningful structure of ongoing hope. They can guide and motivate you to do and accomplish things you never thought you could do. They can help you get out of current worrisome problems, and they can enable you to envision and create new positive alternatives to your present situation. Also, as you make progress towards the achievement of your goals, the progress you make contributes to the development of your self-worth and self-esteem.
