Resilience is the ability to weather a storm, to bounce back from threatening experiences, and to recover from disappointments, setbacks, and possible failures.
It is the ability to survive these kinds of experiences, which are not uncommon in life, and to be able to recover, regain one’s footing, and then persist and move on positively with your life.
Demonstrated resilience is often one of the most remarkable qualities in the success stories of countless individuals.
“Resilience isn’t a single skill. It’s a variety of skills and coping mechanisms. To bounce back from bumps in the road as well as failures, you should focus on emphasizing the positive.” (Jean Chatzky, American journalist, personal finance columnist)
“The human capacity for burden is like bamboo – far more flexible than you’d ever believe at first glance.” (Jodi Picoult, American best selling author}
“Like tiny seeds with potent power to push through tough ground and become mighty trees, we hold innate reserves of unimaginable strength. We are resilient.” (Catherine DeVrye, Australian author and motivational speaker)
