Do You Know Where You Are Going?

“You can set a direct course for your future by defining your goals, or, you can take the opposite position and just let the future haphazardly unfold by itself.” (Catherine Pulsifer)

You can choose to define goals for yourself or you can choose to ignore or neglect this life enhancing task. The choice is yours.

However, be forewarned. If you ignore or neglect setting goals and creating plans for the future, your direction in life will more likely be determined by conditions and circumstances outside of your control and that are not in your best personal interests.

Having goals, especially clearly defined ones, will greatly increase your chances for experiencing a self-determining and personally fulfilling future.

“Give me a stock clerk with a goal and I’ll give you a man who will make history. Give me a man with no goals and I’ll give you a stock clerk.” (J.C. Penney)

“In absence of clearly defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily acts of trivia until ultimately we become enslaved by it” (Robert A. Heinlein)

“If you don’t make the time to work on creating the life that you want, you’re going to spend a lot of time dealing with a life you don’t want.” — Kevin Ngo

Getting Personal

Do you have an important goal? If so, what is it?

Are you satisfied with the progress you are making towards the achievement of this goal?

What is a good way to monitor your progress towards the fulfillment of this goal?
