Kindness

Kindness of giving roses
“A bit of fragrance always clings to the hand that gives roses.” (Chinese Proverb)

Doing an act of kindness is self-rewarding. In acting out of kindness, you experience a feeling of satisfaction in knowing that you are doing something that provides positive benefits for another, and that it is a good thing to do.

A natural capacity for empathy allows you to imagine the positive results of your actions and to share the satisfactions experienced by others. For example, the act of receiving roses is not only enjoyed and valued by the person who receives the flowers, but also by the person who offers the flowers, and who is able to delight in the joys of the recipient.

Getting Personal

The Random Acts of Kindness Organization https://www.randomactsofkindness.org defines random kindness as an action that is performed for another, usually a stranger, simply to bring that person happiness. Someone who performs a random act of kindness expects nothing in return.

Try it out, and see how it feels, and tell us what reaction(s) you received.

Kindness can become its own motive. We are made kind by being kind.” (Eric Hoffer, 20th century American philosopher)
