Doing What You Decide You Want to Do

Most of life’s actions are within our reach, but decisions take willpower.” (Robert McKee)

There are many things we would like to do, and believe are within our reach to do, if we were to try. However, actually doing them requires more than simply deciding you would like to do them.

It often takes inner strength and conviction to get ourselves to actually try. It requires initiative, motivation, and often courage to overcome our inertia, fears, and doubts to actually take action.

And that is what is behind the insightful phrase, “decisions take willpower.”

What you have to do and the way you have to do it is incredibly simple. Whether you are willing to do it, that’s another matter.” (Peter F. Drucker, Austrian-American management consultant, author)

“If the fire in your heart is strong enough, it will burn away any obstacles that come your way.” (Suzy Kassem, American writer, poet)

With motivation you get willpower, and with willpower you get the strength to work hard for what you want. (Fred Juliusson, American self-help author)
