It is wise to be humble, and not arrogant, and not to exaggerate your own sense of self-importance. Being humble is a quality that will serve to make other people more accessible to you and more cooperative.
When you act with humility, others are more likely to admire and respect you, feel comfortable with you, and offer you more opportunities to work with them. However, when you act arrogantly, others will be intimidated by you, or turned off by your sense of superiority or by your oft-perceived lack of acceptance of them, which are all barriers frequently associated with being arrogant.
